Don't you just love this awesome scarf I hooked last week?! It looks fabulous worn with a soft grey knitted dress and drool worthy pair of Caterpillar boots I picked up recently. I had a teeny bit of Vinnis Nikkim, Serina and Bambi yarn in cotton, bamboo and cotton-bamboo twist left over from the awesome throw that I will be showing you soon. I decided to hook up a scarf for myself since we are gearing up for winter here in the Southern Hemisphere and all my scarves are lightweight summery ones I collected whilst living in the Middle East.
I used the pretty Polka Dot Square pattern by Little Woolly. Head on over to her blog for inspiration and patterns.
beautiful!!!!

Thank you Ale, I see you are also busy hooking granny circles!
DeleteIt's absolutely gorgeous! Love the pattern, the texture & the colours... With such a beautiful scarf winter doesn't seem to be so bad after all.
ReplyDeleteAnd now I'm considering buying (a lot of) Vinnis, but I do feel I should attempt some seriously stash busting first. ;-)
Have a wonderful day!
i love this yarn as it can look so different depending on colourchoices and patterns. It is adabtable to almost anything!
Deletemmmmmm, pretty colors! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThese colours always looks great and can stand alone without worries about fashion and fads!
DeleteYour post just reminded me that I need to get back to work on my squares. Lacking motivation much?

I quite like working with sqaures and hexagons as it is much easier to transport from couch to car and back.
DeleteThat reminds me to one of your beautiful collage during the blog week :-)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely!
DeleteThat's a looooooong scarf! It reminds me of a flattened caterpillar! It is beautiful, specially the colors are so soothing to eyes. Love it! :)
ReplyDeleteThat looks awesome, and I am not usually one for subtle colours but I love these colours!
ReplyDeleteHi,love your scarf,I just bought some vinni's bambi and still deciding what to make with it... But was just wondering is it better to use it for something warm or something for summer?what's your opinion?
ReplyDeleteHi, I always think along the lines of animal fibre for winter and plant fibre for summer. Bamboo feels cool on the skin so is definitely great for summer wear. However, viscose fabric made from bamboo has the property of "wearing" cooler in summer and warmer in winter, the yarn is probably the same. The Bambi is not as light as the Serina, but I would wear it in summer too, just use a lacy pattern so that it is not too thick and heavy. The scarf is sturdy and definitely a winter item (that is a mild Safrican winter). It is such a great looking yarn, have fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your help,I think I'll leave it for summer maybe a lacy bolero or vest..thanks again
Deleteit will be stunning. This was also hooked wit Bambi http://ilovepom-poms.squarespace.com/blog/2013/4/9/my-grys-kant-trui.html
