Vintage Throw Finished

Yarn: King Cole Bamboo Cotton in Glacier, 13 x 100gr
Hook Size: 4mm
Pattern from here and here
Images for mood boards below from my Raw Rustic Duck Egg Blue and For Me Pinterest boards

I hope you like my throw as much as I do!
It was such a great and rewarding pattern to hook that I am quite disappointed it came to an end.  I wanted to finish it though, so that I could still photograph it against the wallpapered wall here in the hotel where I also took the pictures for the previous posting.  We are at long last relocating to a villa tomorrow after 5 months of hotel apartment living. T's a busy time for me eeeeeek!
Have a nice week!

  1. If I like it? Like it!!?
I love it! I adore it!
What a beautiful piece. Yet another one...
And duck egg blue just might be my favourite colour... (It's the best name for a colour anyway!)
Thanks for the inspiration and good luck with the relocation,

    1. That is a gorgeous colour, I am hunting down outfits in these colours too, but will need to pop into the shops again to see whether my luck might have turned!

  2. It is just ab-so-lu-te-ly gorgeous !!
I really love the pattern, it looks quite "sophisticated" for a crocheting pattern - I think I'm feeling the urge for crocheting something in that pattern ;-)))
I hope your move goes well - has all your furniture arrived ?
I guess you'll know what to do the next couple of weeks.... It will probably be a lot of work, but arranging & decorating a new house is soooo much fun...

    1. Try it Ingrid, it is a great pattern! the furniture is still sailing the 7 seas, so we bought sleepercouches from Ikea to survive the next few weeks. The villa is equipped with white goods, but it will be empty otherwise grr. It is near impossible to co-ordinate signing a new lease and releasing furniture. Service in SA is worse than terrible and communication with the relication company was a nightmare. On this side finding accommodation and actually getting hold of the landlord (in our case a Sheikh) is a different kind of challenge altogether too. At least looking forward to stock up on a few more items from Ikea today (I sorely missed Ikea in SA and Penang, it is an expats dream shop as one is always in need of showercurtains or curtainrails or chests of drawers etc)

  6. Your creations are always more like works of art than a useful bit of crochet! You even elevate the humble square to a collection of miniature paintings in the latest Simply Crochet! This throw is sublime...good luck with the move! Chrissie x

    1. I made so many test squares before I stumbled upon this one. Bought the yarn from the singer shop so by the way. I was lucky as I got two squares out of each ball with a little yarn left over which I eventually used on the edge. Hope you find your pattern soon!
