Spotty Dotty in Progress!

Bonjour!  It was a sunny and warm weekend in South Africa calling for a fun pattern to be hanging from the hooks. I am making yet another scarf but it certainly provides me with the opportunity to try out new ideas, colours and patterns with great satisfaction. I would love to make up a throw in this pattern and think it is an ideal stash buster!

Are you thinking about new seasons ahead and what you will be hooking by December? I am planning to hook crochet squares throughout summer (it is the southern hemisphere here!) in order to have a King size spread ready by next winter. We have white bedding and oh boy, it is a real pain to keep it clean during winter, especially since the kittens love using the bed as a jogging track after they took a spin through all the dust and dry leaves in the garden!  I hope you are all enjoying a hooking happy week. xxxx

  1. Thank you Ale, I just hooked a few in the Blue Violet and it is livening up the whole scarf. I guess I will join with the Plum. Cheers!

  2. Great idea to make a spread, it's a lot of work but absolutely worth-while. Good luck on that.
Although I really don't want to think about it, our next season will be autumn. I am still in the summer feeling and hope I can stay in that as long as possible.
The first weekend of September is the so called "Pumpkin fair", a local festival with hundreds of pumpkins in all sizes and shapes, pumpkin soup, pumpkin cake etc.. I will be there with my crochet projects as well as home and garden decoration. Some of them are bought, but most of them are made. Or still have to be made. So lots of crochet to be done here.
    Best regards,
    Nathaly

    1. Oh Nataly, I am not a winter's person and have lived in the Middle East and South East Asia where there were no winter whatsoever. At least in South Africa we also only have a 4 month winter and it was very mild this year. The pumpkin fair sounds great! Happy hooking, it is nice to be busy with something in mind. xxx

  3. Oh! is beautiful. After my last project I was thinking of making a blanket for my bed, but think of the size I get a little scared, but then again I also think it is a project that enters in the top 10 of the crochet. I think I'm encouraging me to do it. :)
I enjoy a lot your blog

    1. Do it Sandra! The biggest I have made is a throw for a single bed and it was really nice to do because I kept the blocks simple and big. Woooo a double bed might be big work, but definitely a piece to treasure. I MUST hook one at least once.

    1. Ah this is a challenge then for me - if others can hook a double bed, I should be able to persevere too. I just worry about the boredom factor and think it should be a 2 squares a day project for me. You just reminded me that Christmas is around the corner - the Teen and I would like to hook decorations for a tree.
